General Overview of the Eagan Travel Baseball Program

The typical Travel season runs from April through early-July. Players and parents can expect a time commitment of 3-5 nights per week including weekends that include approximately 12-14 league games, 3-4 weekend tournaments, and 2-3 practices per week including weekends.  Games and practices are not on pre-scheduled nights and can change week to week. Teams that make one or both state tournaments may play through the end of July.

Tryouts for 10u – 14u are held in the fall outside depending on weather. Look for tryout registration to open in mid-August, with tryouts in September and team formation right after tryouts. This timing allows for teams to schedule off-season team building and training as desired by each team.

9u registration will open in January with tryouts held in mid-March before spring break with team formation immediately following.

Official practice starts right after players return from Spring Break with indoor practices at The Cages and dome space with teams getting outside as soon as the weather and field conditions allow.

Travel Baseball is a member of the Metro Baseball League (MBL), information on rules, equipment requirements, league schedules and standings can be found on the www.mbl.bz website. Players 16 and over will play in Legion baseball leagues.

Volunteer support is needed to ensure a successful program. On top of the main registration fees each family is required to complete a given number of hours of volunteer time per player. There are multiple volunteer opportunities throughout the season with most hours being available during our Eagan-hosted tournaments.
