With the upcoming 2018 Season, Eagan Baseball Association has a new Vision Statement:
Develop an engaged and competitive program built on dedication, respect and personal development.
We also have a new mantra to get us there…. “Success is not owned, it is leased, and the rent is due EVERY DAY.” (J.J. Watt) We believe we need to amplify the culture and the focus in our off-season training to achieve our team and individual goals.
“Paying the Rent” is hard work and it starts with a dedicated commitment to training. That is where we grow as ball players, coaches and as strong members of our baseball community.
New 2018 Offseason Training Program:
There are several key changes to our offseason training program based at The Cages for 2018:
1. Introduction of the first-ever Chief Baseball Officer for EBA!
2. Vastly expanded Pitching and Catching instruction and focus.
3. The first-ever Baseball Performance Training program.
How It Works:
Eagan players and families will be able to purchase flexible and focused training packages that allow them access to 5 different types of age-specific classes:
Hitting: Ages 8-12 or 13-15
Fielding: Ages 8-12 or 13-15
Pitching: 3 phase development Nov – April
Catching: All Ages
Performance Training: All Ages*
Players can sign up on line for any amount or combination of classes they choose and can vary workouts from week to week. This will allow for maximum flexibility to work around busy schedules and winter sport commitments.
The coach-to-player max ratio is 5:1, so players will receive plenty of individual attention. Sessions run from November 15, 2017 to April 30, 2018. Classes will be added as demand increases throughout the off-season.
EBA Training Sessions will be led with excellence:
Toby Anderson, our Chief Baseball Officer: Toby is the face and leader of Eagan Offseason Baseball Training. Toby led the Gophers in wins the last two years as a starting pitcher and has tallied over 200 career innings. Toby was a key member of the 2016 Big Ten Championship Team. Toby has both Coaching and Baseball in his DNA and is excited to lead our year-round push for excellence.
Cole McDevitt: First Team All-Big 10 and Academic All-Big Ten Catcher who hit .296 for the Gophers. Cole will lead the weekly class on catching an also host several Catching Clinics.
Troy Traxler: Academic All-Big Ten Outfielder for the Gophers
Nate Trelstad, CSCS: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists who pitched for the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks while earning a degree in Sports and Exercise Science. Nate will lead the Performance Training Program.
